CSR “Parivartan – An Education program for underprivileged children”

The volunteers were students of PGDM (2022-24 batch). Day’s focus was to celebrate “Republic Day” with the underprivileged children of Sahibabad area. The student volunteers included Rohit, Saloni, Harsa, Sudhansh, & Priya.

 

Student volunteers spoke about the various freedom fighters to make the children familiar with them. They also conducted few memory games for the children. This was followed by a session of Fundamrntal Right . Each of the volunteers explained the necessity and importance of the relevant rights for the citizens of the country.

During the celebration a Cultural Competition was organised in which interested kids participated. Children presented dance and patriotic poems. The best three performers were awarded with prizes.

The session ended with the distribution of refreshments.

Special Session on “Contemporary Marketing Practices”

I.T.S School of Management, Ghaziabad organized a special session on “Contemporary Marketing Practices” for the participants of PGDM  (2022 – 2024) batch on 23rd January, 2023.

 

The eminent speaker for the session was Dr Mukesh Sharma, from William Angliss Institute of TAFE, Melbourne, Australia.

The session started with a warm welcome and greetings by Dr. Timira Shukla, Director I.T.S School of Management, followed by words of wisdom and motivation by Dr. V.N Bajpai, Director I.T.S and Dr. Sunil Pandey, Director U.G and IT. 

Dr. Mukesh Gupta, distinguished speaker began the session by sharing his enriching life experiences from a law student to a marketer in the hospitality field. He highlighted the importance of knowing the customer needs first and then plan the product and service accordingly. He further said that contemporary marketing practices are not merely about attracting new customers but it also includes instilling customer loyalty and a sense of brand devotion. Then he shared some ways to make a healthy contemporary marketing strategies through relationship management, networking, promotions, advertising, digital marketing and business analytics. He gave insights about the "Pareto Effect" and also told how students can use this rule to solve their day-to-day problems. He told how important it is to pursue your hobbies to create work life balance. He also shared that learning   is a beautiful experience and one can learn anything from the University of You Tube. Lastly, he said that one should always practice humility to succeed in the journey of life. At the conclusion of the session, he welcomed intriguing question from students and answered them comprehensively.

The session was ended by presenting the memento as a token of gratitude by Dr. V.N Bajpai and Dr. Sunil Pandey. The session was full of learning and enthusiasm.

International Talk on “Future of Jobs and Skills Needed”

I.T.S School of Management, Ghaziabad organized a virtual International Talk on the topic “Future of Jobs and Skills Needed” for the students of PGDM (2022-24) Batch on 21st January, 2023

The expert for the session was Mr. Sudhir Tiku, Vice President, Bosch Energy & Business Solution, Singapore

Dr. Timira Shukla, Director, ITS School of Management welcomed the resource person. Mr. Sudhir Tiku started the session by on interesting exercise. And explained how repetitive tasks can be done faster by bots as compared to a human being. He focused on the requirements of AI in the upcoming markets and the type of skills required for management students. He emphasized that students should be ready for acquiring and adoption of new skills and talents for future prospects in enhancing their career growth with the help of AI. He said in next 10 years AI will be replacing about 47% of jobs.

The scale of AI will be very large so it will also create jobs, not only in the field of I.T. sector but also in other sectors. The concept of physical buildings will become obsolete in future because all the things will be there on cloud. So students will be able to work from any corner of the world as per their expertise. But this process is a long journey. It will be covered in small steps. Although this process may not seem emotional but it is an economical option of the people. AI can also be used in health sectors for the diagnosis of disease and cure.

The key skills required for making career in A.I. are:-

(1).Embrace the disclaimer of not Knowing (Upskill)

(2).There is a difference between complicated and complex (Expertise)

(3).Resist oversimplification and quick conclusion (Patience)

(4).Zoom Out (Look at Big Picture).

Guest Lecture on “Revamping HR Practices For A Hybrid Workplace”

I.T.S School of Management, Ghaziabad organized a guest lecture on “Revamping HR Practices For A Hybrid Workplace” for the PGDM batch (2022-24) on January 21, 2023.

 

The eminent speaker for the Guest lecture was Mr. Subhankar Ghose, Vice President and Head – HR, Spice Money.

The session started with a warm welcome of eminent speaker by Dr. Timira Shukla, Director, I.T.S School of Management by presenting a plant sapling. Mr. Subhankar started the talk by the most captivating topic that is digital payments in rural areas under financial inclusion initiative by the government. He told that organization can create eye-catching possibilities of sales in rural areas in terms of digital transaction by creating awareness. Then he elaborated about the hybrid working culture tactics and the pros and cons where he explained employees have to adopt this change if they want to  become successful in corporates. He further added that organization may become cost effective in hybrid working culture but it can create the menace of moonlighting, technical issues, tracking performance etc. Then he gave beautiful insights about HR Practices to cope up with this culture  by promoting work life balance through giving health benefits, yoga sessions, flexible working hours. He also made the students aware about the importance of relationship building, networking and  knowledge sharing and how these helped them to carve their career in long run. Lastly he ended the session with a motivational quote, “Practice what you Preach”. Towards the conclusion of the workshop he welcomed intriguing questions from students and answered them comprehensively.

The session was ended by offering a memento as a token of gratitude to guest by Dr. Anusha Agarwal, PGDM Chairperson. The session was coordinated by Dr. Vivek Pachauri.

Corporate Talk on “Career Choices and Corporate Expectations From Internship”

I.T.S School of Management, Ghaziabad organized a corporate talk on the focal theme on “Career Choices and Corporate Expectation from Internship” for the participants of PGDM (2022 – 24) batch on January 20, 2022.

 

 

 

The eminent speaker for the lecture was Ms Shalini Bishoi, currently working as Senior Project manager and C & B head, India for MediaTek Technology Ltd. In the beginning of the session Director Dr. Timira Shukla presented the plant sapling to Ms. Shalini Bishnoi to welcome her and sensitize the students about the objective of the session.

She began the guest lecture by the most captivating topic that Is” How to choose career”, where she told that students should analyzed on four parameters i.e. personality, skill, values, interest before making the career choice. Then she told that how our technical, functional, and behavioural skills contributed in the interview. She also gave insights about work attitude where she told that how hard work, odd will working, and being proactive during SIP help student for carving their career. She further shared, the relevance of “Job Shadow, commitments and humbleness during SIP’s.” Finally, she ended the lecture with a motivational quote “Grass isn’t greater on the other side, but its greater when you water it”.

Towards the conclusion of the lecture, she welcomed intriguing question from students and answered them comprehensively. In the end Prof. Yachna Malhotra conveyed gratitude and thank Ms. Shalini to share her valuable time and inputs with the PGDM students by presenting her the I.T. S memento and gift.

PGDM Students attended Five-Days : Advanced Management Development Program at IIT Kanpur

The students of PGDM (2022-24 and 2021-23) batches from I.T.S School of Management, Ghaziabad namely  Ram Krishan Mishra, Divyansh Jaiswal, Poorvi Gupta, Vivek Kesarwani and Papiya Dey  attended a five-day Advanced Management Development Program from 16th -20th  January, 2023 organised by Indian Institute of Technology –IIT Kanpur,  Outreach Centre, Noida.

The participants came from various backgrounds ranging from students to entrepreneurs. The programme provided them an opportunity to meet various start-up founders and learn from their experiences. The trainers were the founders of the start-ups who shared various strategies and problems they had faced.

The whole program was spread across five days. and on the last day some of the MSMEs were given a chance to pitch their start-up idea so as to gain some insights in order to improve the fund-raising pitch. It was a very engaging and eye opening experience for the students in particular, providing a foundation for future developments in the fields of entrepreneurship and innovation.

Guest Lecture on “Start-Up Finance” for PGDM (2022-24) Batch Students

I.T.S School of Management organized a guest lecture on “Start-up Finance” for PGDM students of batch 2021-23 & 2022-24 on Thursday, January 19, 2023. Mr. T.N. Ravi Founder, AV Enterprises was the speaker for the session.

 

The session started with welcome by Dr. Timira Shukla, Director, I.T.S School of Management, Dr. Anusha Agarwal, Chairperson PGDM and   Dr. Namita Mishra also greeted the speaker.

The eminent speaker of the session was Mr. T.N. Ravi, Founder of AV Enterprises. He explained to the students about Start-up Businesses and their structure, Further, he enlightened the students by giving examples of entrepreneurship and startups & their vital role in the industry. He also explained various types of funding viz., Bootstrapping, Seed Funding/ Angel Funding, Series, and IPO. He shared some practical knowledge about start-ups and sources of funding for the business and funding pie at various stages of funding.

The session was insightful and engaging. It was a great learning for all the students as they .enjoyed the question-and-answer sessions and got the opportunity to clear their doubts

The session concluded by honouring Mr. T.N. Ravi with a plaque by Dr. Anusha Agarwal. The guest lecture was coordinated by Dr. Namita Mishra.

2023 AUTO EXPO: THE MOTOR SHOW

I.T.S. School Of Management, Ghaziabad provided a great opportunity to the PGDM (2022-24) Batch student attending the “2023 AUTO EXPO: THE MOTOR SHOW” on 18th January, 2023 at India Expo Mart, Greater Noida.

·         The event Auto Expo 2023 was organized by the Automotive Component Manufacturers Association ACMA, Confederation of Indian Industry CII, and Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers SIAM.

·         This Motor Show is enormously big and full of wonderful exposure for all fans and aspirants in the industry.

Highlights of our visit:

Nine students of PGDM namely Roopali Kanchan, Usha Sharma, Shikhar Mishra, Md. Ali, Sunny Tyagi, Abhinav Bhadoria, Anupam Shaw, Anjali and Radhika Goyal along with faculty Prof. Yachna Malhotra visited AUTO EXPO 2023. Students enjoyed understanding and experiencing different cars, two wheelers, three wheelers, concept vehicles, commercial vehicles (trucks and buses), vintage cars and bikes, super cars and bikes, tyres and tubes, VR machines, new era of map technology and so on. Students saw various automobile company unveiled collection of cars. It includes Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai motor India, Tata motors, Toyota motor, Kia India, mg motor India, and Renault India.

Electric vehicles were the flavor of the expo. All the major auto manufacturer displayed their innovation and design in the electric mobility all major players like Tata, Suzuki, Kia and several another came up with various model which have been launched and other which are still in conceptualization. There has been a major shift in the fuel consumption and various auto manufacturer like Toyota have introduced biofuel vehicles like ethanol and hydrogen powered cars. There were also different promotional activities and techniques used by interact customer.

Students also participated in an ethanol show where the host asked some questions about how we can save our environment, and what’s our pledge to save the environment. All  students participated and gave very nice answers and “Usha Sharma” won and received a helmet as a gift for giving the best pledge.

Overall it was a great exposure and a learning experience. Prof. Yachna Malhotra  co-ordinated the Auto Expo event.

PGDM students attended Startup Workshop : Masterclass on Intellectual Property, Art of Pitching & Leadership

On the 12th January, 2023, a group of 20 students from PGDM (2022-24) batch namely Ram Krishna Mishra, Vivek Kesarwani, Dileep Kumar, Himanshu Gautam, Ritik Arora, Raj Mishra, Rahul Kumar,  Rishita Sihani, Neeti Singh, Poorvi Gupta,Divyansh Jaiswal, Sundari Tomar, Aman Singh, Shristy Srivastva, Vikas Kumar Mandal, Sudhansh Upadhyay, Anurag Chandrawanshi, Abhishek Kumar, Shubhanshu Purwar at 

 

I.T.S School of Management, accompanied by Dr Indraneel Mandal visited the IIM Lucknow Noida Campus for the workshop on startups focused on women. This was specially keeping in mind that it was the Startup India Innovation Week culminating with the National Startup Day on January 16. Starting from a paltry figure of eight, there are now as many as 31 states in India with their own startup policies. IIM Lucknow supports such endeavours, with its seed fund growing to Rs 2 crore in fourteen months.

The session started with Ms. Disha Singh, Manager, Enterprises, at IIML outlining the activities at the IIML Enterprise Incubation Centre. She referred to services like startup helpdesk, market validation & pricing sessions, and legal advice for startups.

Dr Aarti Gupta, National Head, FICCI FLO Startup Cell, delivered the keynote address for the session. She used Japanese philosophy to explain the tenets of entrepreneurial success, referring to ikigai or reason for being; mottainai or occurrence of waste; wa or harmony; kaizen or continuous improvement; and ganbaru or standing firm.

Prof. Neerja Pandey, Dean, IIML, then held forth on leadership for aspiring women entrepreneurs. Addressing the budding entrepreneurs in the audience, she stressed on the need for patience and the ability to deal with failure. She explained that an entrepreneur experiences fulfillment by being a source of happiness for others.

Among the invited speakers for the session, Ms Arushi Gupta, Founder, Satyaki Legal talked about the various legal issues relating to intellectual property rights. She tried to enlighten the assembled participants on the do’s and don’ts in this regard. Ms. Priyanka Madnani, Founder and CEO, Easy To Pitch, discussed the nitty gritties of how to pitch one’s business idea  before investors. In an interesting interaction, she zeroed in on the common fallacies and laid down the pathway for effectively winning the confidence of potential investors.

It was a very awe inspiring workshop with free and fair exchange of thoughts, specially from women’s point of view. Many of the participants had specific queries relating to their area of operation, which were adequately handled by the dignitaries. The students also got a first-hand experience of the goings on in the startup space.

I.T.S School of Management organized a Guest Lecture on ‘Investment in Mutual Fund Schemes’ for PGDM (2021-23) Batch finance specialization students on 11th January 2022.

 

The session was initiated by the presence of Mr. Sachin Narang, Business Manager at Blueant Finserv Pvt Ltd; Dr. Timira Shukla, Director I.T.S School of Management welcomed the speaker

Mr. SachinNarang, the resource person of the guest lecture, disseminated the knowledge of various investment avenues to the students in his session. He briefly introduced the students about investment in equity and debt mutual fund schemes and their suitability to investors based on investors’ short term and long term investment goals. Mr. Narang explained large cap, mid cap, small cap, contra, value and thematic equity fund schemes along with liquid, ultra short term, dynamic, gilt mutual fund schemes of debt mutual fund segment.In this session he also discussed about common investment mistakes and remedies thereof.

It was an interactive session as students asked their queries related to the contents covered during the session. The guest speaker was felicitated with memento by Dr. Timira Shukla and Dr. Anusha Agarwal, Chairperson PGDM. The session was coordinated by Dr. Neeraj Sanghi.
