FOREIGN EDUCATIONAL TOUR TO COLOMBO & SINGAPORE FROM 17TH NOVEMBER 2011 TO 24TH NOVEMBER 2011

I.T.S -Institute of Management, Greater Noida, a constituent of I.T.S-The Education Group has organised foreign educational tour to Colombo and Singapore for the students of PGDM batch(2010-12) from 17th November 2011 to 24th November 2011 .The group comprises of 53 students who are accompanied by Dr. Kishor Chandra Meher and Prof. Sunita Kaul . The foreign educational tour was flagged off at 12.15 P.M on 17th November 2011 by the esteemed Chief Guest Mr. Sabarjeet Ram, ADM(Finance & Revenue) of Gautam Budha Nagar. The group arrived at Colombo in the same night. They visited Bentota island at Colombo and enjoyed various Water Sports events. At Singapore, the students visited Management Development Institute of Singapore (MDIS). Prof. Sunny Ong, Professor of marketing had a wonderful session with the students on the topic of international trade followed by a case study of Amazon.com vs Apple on the issue of customer centric focus at the cost of generating profits. The group saw Night Safari where the birds and animals were staying in their natural habitat. They had a city tour and moved around China Town and Financial Districts and Singapore Flyover. They saw the images of Singapore at Sentosa Islands which depicts about the history of pre and post independence of Singapore. They visited the underwater world where shark, octopus and rare fish species were moving in the underwater. They had seen a wonderful Dolphin Show. Last programme at Sentosa was the Songs of the Sea which was an ultimate multimedia attraction to all the viewers. The students visited the URA (Urban Reconstruction Authority) which shows the architect plan of Singapore. They visited Marina Barage and Jurong Bird Park where they saw bird sanctuary and water fall. The group had returned back to Campus on 24th November 2011 .

 

 

We at I.T.S-IM understand that Global exposure is a must to work in a multi cultural environment. To make students familiar with global environment and working culture of International Business organisations, I.T.S IM provides a facility of free foreign educational tour to the students.

Foreign Educational Tour from 24 April  to 30 April, 2011

 

A batch of 60 students of PGDM (2010-12 batch) went on Foreign Educational Tour to Singapore & Colombo. The tour was flagged off by Dr. R.B.L.Goswami, Former VC, C.C.S University, Meerut  on 24 April, 2011 (for more details see News and Events). The Itinery of the tour is as follows:

(April 24-30, 2011)

A group of 60 PGDM (2010-12) students proceeded on an educational trip to Colombo and Singapore from 24th April to 30th April, 2011. The students were accompanied by two faculty members, Prof. Vikas Singh and Prof. Farhat Mohsin. Mr. Mukul Agrawal the tour manager from M.M. Travels also accompanied the group.

24th April, 2011- The group was flagged off from ITS Institute of Management by Dr. R.B.L.Goswami, Former Vice Chancellor, C.C.S University, Meerut on the 23rd April 2011. The group landed in Srilanka by Srilankan Airlines late on the night of 24th of April, 2011. Boarding and lodging arrangements were made at Hotel Pegasus Reef, Colombo. The arrangements were satisfactory to the expectation of the group.

25th April, 2011- After an early breakfast the students went to the Bentota Island, famous for water sports activities where the students enjoyed a lot of water sports and other recreational activities like Jet – Skiing, Diving, Banana Ride, Tube Ride and boat cruise ect. Lunch was arranged in a local Aida restaurant. The evening session of the day was spent in local sightseeing and shopping. Two local guides accompanied the group and explained the historical significance of various places and the history of Sri Lanka.

26th April, 2011- Early morning at around 03:30am the group checked out of the hotel and took the Srilankan flight at 07: 00 am to Singapore. The flight reached Singapore at around 03:30 pm and the group checked into the hotel Hotel Goldkist Resort. After a brief rest and high tea the group was taken to the Night Safari. The group was accompanied by two local guide who stayed with the group during the entire stay. The Night Safari was a lesson for the group on conservation of nature-flora and fauna. The night safari tram took them through the park to observe various animals in their natural environment. The ride itself was very informative and the animals were very active at night.  Night Safari was followed by dinner at Hotel Bollywood which is an Indian restaurant. After dinner the students spent time exploring the shopping destinations at Singapore.

27th April, 2011– After an early breakfast a visit to Management Development Institute of Singapore was arranged. This was a great learning for the students as the students got an insight into the management education system in Singapore. Prof Sunny Ong of MDIS addressed the students, his lecture was upon the current management standards in Singapore. The group took a tour of the campus. After lunch the group went to the Marina Barrage to see the flood control and water treatment system in Singapore. The Marina Barrage is a dam built across the 350 meter wide Marina channel to keep out seawater and forming Singapore’s first reservoir in the city. The Marina Barrage is a symbol of Singapore’s success in water management. The evening hours were reserved for the shopping and sightseeing for the group. The day ended with dinner at hotel Sitara International.

 28th April, 2011- After an early breakfast the group left to see the world famous Jurong Bird Park. The birds at Jurong Bird Park are from all over the world and are spectacular. The group spent almost four hours walking around the park and explored the zoo by their own. They took a ride with a train and saw some good animal shows. The lunch was arranged in Hotel Mughal.

After lunch the group spent time exploring the shopping destinations at Singapore. The day ended with dinner at hotel Sagar Ratna.

29th April, 2011- The morning was spent in an organized city tour.  The local tour guide showed the various buildings of significance and told about the meteoric progress of the country. First students went to the Singapore flyer, the world largest observation wheel, then to SUNTEC square, Merlion at city square and the Chocolate factory. The students took a tour for local sightseeing and then had their lunch in Park Land an Indian Restaurant.

 The post lunch session was dedicated for a trip to the Sentosa Island to experience the natural and man made marvels of Singapore. The group took a cable car to Sentosa and they were shown Under Water World, 4D animation show, dolphin show, the group also spent some time at the beach and had fun, after which they watched the Songs of the Sea ( a laser show). The day ended with dinner at Hotel Aangan.

30th April, 2011- After checking out of the hotel at 03: 30am the group proceeded to the air port to board the flight at 07:00am to Colombo The flight reached Colombo at around 10:10am and after four and half hours wait the group boarded a connecting flight to New Delhi. The group landed at New Delhi Airport at around 06:15pm and from there reached the college campus at about 10:00pm.

The trip proved to be a great learning experience as the students were exposed to many rich cultural and social practices and interacted with people of different cultures and walks of life

Foreign Educational Tour from 23 April to 29 April, 2010

A batch of 52 students was sent on a foreign educational tour for seven days from 23 April to 29th April, 2010 to Singapore and Sri Lanka. Mr. Deepak Agarwal, I.A.S, District Magistrate, Gautam Budh Nagar was the Chief Guest and Mr. Shivkant Dwivedi, Additional District Magistrate was the guest of honour for the Flag-off ceremony of this tour.
