Today's lecture was started with the discussion of practical aspect of measure of Centre tendency and Measure of Dispersion and he discussed so many different situations where these tools can be applied to make better decision. During the tenure of his discussion he also showed some graph and asked the students to find out answers of some questions depending on them.

After that he discussed about the discovery of Regression and correlation that how regression was discovered when Francis Galton in 1987 wanted to study the relationship between height of sons and their fathers. He discussed that with regression analysis we can set the trend for quantifying the relationship between two variables in which one variable is dependent variable and others are independent and he discussed how we can use regression analysis to forecast the value of one variable when the value of other variable is known. He also talked about the different methods of regression analysis and interpretation of results. Prof. N.K. Gupta then gave the students a case study and asked them to solve it with the help of different statistical tools.

Towards the conclusion of his lecture, Prof. N. K. Gupta discussed his current research about the reasons of divorce in newly married couples. The lecture arranged today facilitated the students to understand statistics in a more practical outlook and also enlightened them how a manager can make better decisions with the help of these tools.

The SDP was inaugurated by Dr. Vineet Kansal who in his inaugural address pointed out the importance of the theme of SDP and asked the participants to remain interactive throughout all sessions of SDP. He said that an SDP on Service Orientation will be effective and fruitful only when we have an internal urge to serve people. He wished the participants a great learning and fun.

Soon after the inaugural addresses, the high energy SDP began. Dr. Charu took sessions on Service Orientation while Prof. Gopal elaborated the nuances of Professional Excellence. A variety of tools were used for the effective training and sharing the various aspects of the theme. Staff-members showed unprecedented interest in the tasks like chart preparations, role plays, sharing feedback as customer and as an official. Videos on Japanese Culture, innovative customer care and infections of anger and happiness not only attracted the participants but also generated a lot of learning out of discussions after the videos.

At the end of the SDP, the staff members shared their experiences and takeaways. Finally the SDP, packed with fun, learning and games concluded with the valedictory session.

The workshop was inaugurated by Dr A K Puri, Director General of I.T.S Ghaziabad with the lamp lighting. In his inaugural address he mentioned that case study method of teaching used in management education is quite different and interesting from most of the methods of teaching used at various B-schools. It is different because it inculcates qualitative and quantitative analytical skill, decision making skills, application skills, oral communication skills and time management skills and Interesting in the sense that unlike traditional lecture-based teaching the case method is an active learning method, which requires participation and involvement from the participant. Dr Lena Horne, Professor at university of Manitoba, Canada highlighted the various issues related to case method of teaching. Dr Mohan Agrawal, the facilitator of the event briefed about the case for the discussion; “Tata Consultancy Services (TCS): Entry and Growth in the Health and Life Sciences Business”. Three Indo- Canadian teams consisting the students from University of Manitoba, Canada and I.T.S Ghaziabad were formed. All the teams have analysed and presented the case. The workshop was full of many colours of joy, happiness, togetherness, that could be seen in students of both the nations. It gave an opportunity to learn and at the same time to create an everlasting relationship. At the end the workshop was over with not just smiles on everyone’s faces but the memories of pulsating togetherness.

Next, he explained about Brand Prism which includes Physique, Personality, Culture, Relationship, Reflection and Self Image. He has discussed about ABC Concept and 80-20 Rule that is now applicable and adopted in all the industries.

After the imparting of knowledge, he then interacted with the students and asked them to share their views regarding the topic and answered their queries as well such as discussed a little about role of Procurement and Vendor Management in supply chain management, Application of Procurement Principles in Retail Sector.
