Management faculty attended 18th National Convention

Dr. Satish Kumar and  Dr. Shailendra Kumar Dube, faculty of  I.T.S School of Management, Ghaziabad attended the 18th National Convention  on the theme of “Advancing Sustaining Development : Driving Change with Forward Faster 2030” on 23rd February, 2024 organized by UN Global Compact Network India  at New Delhi,. 

 

The basic objective of UN Global Compact is to generate business awareness and action in support of achieving the Sustainable Developments Goals by 2030. These goals were clearly articulated in 2015, by all 193 members, for achieving a better future for all. At the heart of such are 17 Sustainable Developmental Goals (SDGs). The 18th Convention was to review the progress made by stakeholders, policymakers, Corporate & MNCs and Governments.

International Webinar on ‘Soft Skills and Business Communication’ In Collaboration with Asian Maritime Technological College (AMCOL), Thailand

I.T.S School of Management, Ghaziabad organized an International Webinar on ‘Soft Skills and Business Communication’ in Collaboration with Asian Maritime Technological College (AMCOL), Thailand on February 21, 2024.

 

The objective of this webinar was to showcase the importance of soft skills and business communication for managers and professionals working in corporate world and marine industry. This webinar was organized for the students of PGDM (2023-25) Batch along with the students of AMCOL, Thailand.

The event commenced with the welcome address of Dr. Timira Shukla, Director I.T.S School of Management Ghaziabad. In her address, Dr. Shukla greeted all the resource persons of webinar and emphasized the importance of this webinar for the participants of both the institutions.

Dr. (Capt.) Chalermvut Thansuwan, Licensee of AMCOL & Master Mariner, Thailand chaired the first session of webinar and discussed the importance of effective communication in marine industry. He conversed how effective communication is essential in navigation, cargo operations, cost management and command of the ships etc. In his address, a recent real life case of Suez Canal blockage and its huge economic impact was discussed which happened due to improper communication.

Mr. David Tapmalai, Lecturer English Language, AMCOL discussed the essentials of effective professional communication such as clarity and precision in massages, avoiding ambiguity in information sharing. He mentioned that feedback may be taken as constructive criticism which is essential for process improvisation. He stressed on the importance of communication in employee engagement, leadership and conflict mitigation.

Prof. Yachna Malhotra, Associate Professor (Communication and Soft Skills), I.T.S School of Management chaired the third session of the event. She mentioned that effective communication is the most important trait required at workplace. Dr. Malhotra discussed Simon Sinek’s Golden Circle Model with participants and its importance in soft skills development. In her address, she elaborated on the concept of STAR (situation, task, attitude and result).

The participants of both the institutions raised queries during the event which were duly addressed by resource persons.

All the recourse persons were felicitated with virtual plaques presented by Dr. Timira Shukla, Dr. Anusha Agarwal and Dr. Neeraj Sanghi.

BUSINESS SUMMIT-2024

I.T.S School of Management, Ghaziabad organised 8th edition of Business Summit-2024 on theme “RAISE@2024: Responsible, Accelerated, Innovative, Sustainable and Equitable Businesses” in association with academic partner – Polytechnic University of the Philippines, San Pedro Campus  & media partner – Business Standard on February 17, 2024.

 

The summit was graced by stdwarts from industry and academia. And it witnessed participation of National and International  delegates along with the students from Polytechnic University of the Philippines, San Pedro Campus  .

The summit commenced with the address by Shri Surinder Sood, Director PR, I.T.S The Education Group. He warmly welcomed all the eminent speakers and shared his valuable insights on the focal theme with the audience. He emphasized that the participants should encourage an environment of query building and challenges themselves to gain new learnings. They should be attentive and take maximum learning from the vast experience and expertise of corporate veterans.

Dr. Timira Shukla introduced the theme of the summit and shared her valuable insights about the responsible and innovative businesses and their relevance in today’s scenario in her inaugural address. Dr. Anusha Agarwal, Chairperson PGDM Programme and Summit Convener provided the overview of the summit and the flow of the program.

Honorable Chief Guest of the inaugural session Mr. Rajendra Shrivastav, Managing Director, 5B India Business spoke about the importance of preservation of environment and he highlighted that how today’s generation has to work upon finding solutions to today’s innovations.

Mr. Amit Sinha Roy, VP & Global Head, Tata Communications, the Guest of Honour focused about difficulties for business to survive individually. He highlighted that sustainability is very important for all and for the economy all must adopt the strategy of reuse and recycle.

Mr. Ashish Agrawal, Director, Resurgent India Ltd., Guest of Honour, addressed the issue of profit- making business culture, which essentially runs on a philosophy of Take, Make and Waste. He appreciated the thoughtful theme of the event highlighting how Government is making strategies and policies to include responsible, innovation, equitable and sustainable businesses in future and it all starts with sensitizing the upcoming generations of managers and entrepreneurs towards the concepts and their need.

Mementos were presented to all the speakers as a token of remembrance and gratitude.

IPCIDE Annual Conference attended by management students

Harsh Kumar and Jyoti Students of PGDM program 2023-25 batch from I.T.S School of Management participated in the conference on State of India’s Digital Economy on February 16, 2024

at Hotel Taj Mnasingh, New Delhi. The program was organized by ICRIER Centre for Internet and Digital Economy (IPDIDE) which aims to showcase that how digitalization has made dramatic progress in India.

The event was delivered by experts on the topical issues of digitalization and their aspects of internet and AI in India and Globe through different panelists. The experts shared their views on the topical issues like investing in meaningful connectivity in internet, India’s Techade for business, Safe and Secure Internet in India and delivery patterns, role of AI.

The event was very fruitful as informative and learning in terms of enhancement of business minds of working class of AI and internet availability in the market.

I.T.S School of Management, Ghaziabad PGDM Students and Faculty members attended National Conclave on Viksit Bharat@2047 on February 27, 2024 at Hotel Shangri La, New Delhi. The event aimed to discuss and plan India's development by 2047, covering various important topics.
 

Student of PGDM 2023-25 Batch, namely Ankita Agarwal, Nishu Yadav, Nirdosh Kumar Singh, Rishi Singh, Priyanka Prakash, Shivangi Gupta along with faculty member’s   Dr. Anusha Agarwal & Prof. Yachana Malhotra attended the sessions.

The event started and ended with talks from influential figures, Chief Guest was   Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, Union Minister of Finance & Corporate Affairs emphasized that “Goal is not only to make Viksit Bharat, it is our duty to provide better India, and Youth feel proud to live in India. Guest of Honor was Shri Anurag Thakur, Union Minister of Information & Broadcasting and Sports & Youth Affairs and he shared the journey of India from UPA to UPI. He also told us that Hon’ble PM believes in Team Work Sab Ka Sath Sab ka Vikas. The welcome speech was given by Dr. Anish Shah, President, FICCI & CEO, Mahindra Group in which he told us that FICCI is supporting Viksit Bharat and working on 4 aspects:

·         Make in India

·         Women Empowerment

·         Farm Prosperity

·         Sustainability

Special Address was given by Shri Harsh Pati Singhania, J K Paper Ltd. Where he told us that, Viksit Bharat is not just a vision, it is not a desire of individual,it is a desire of collective India.The inaugural session was followed by three stimulating panel discussions on the theme Farmers First. The session focused on improving agriculture for farmers' prosperity and Financial Inclusion Discussion on making India financially strong.

In the post lunch session focused on Women-Led Development the role of women in India's development was discussed.

All the sessions successfully captured the potential of India's manufacturing sector and its strategic importance in economic growth and job creation. The speakers provided valuable perspectives on various aspects of manufacturing, contributing to the vision of making India a global manufacturing leader by 2047.

It was an enriching experience and learning for all and helped everyone to network with the industry professionals.

Management Faculty attended 3rd IP Excellence Awards and Global IP Conclave.

Dr Rajeev Johari, Faculty of I.T.S School of Management, Ghaziabad participated in the 3rd IP Excellence Awards and Global IP Conclave Envisioning India’s IP - Innovation Ecosystem for Viksit Bharat on February 6, 2024 at Hotel the Lalit, New Delhi organised by ASSOCHAM.

The event witnessed best of the minds representing the Global and Indian IP fraternity. The topics covered were:  Strategies for making India’s IP -Innovation Ecosystem future ready; Building robust IP mechanisms for Innovation facilitation and IP and Innovation for advancing Sustainable Development in India.

Finvest Club Event : ‘Live Session on Interim Union Budget 2024-25’

The Finance Club- Finvest at I.T.S School of Management organized Live Session on Interim Union Budget 2024-25 on February 01, 2024 for PGDM 2023-25 batch students.

 The objective of this event was to create financial awareness amongst students related to Union Budget announcements.
​Union Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman today presented the Interim Union Budget 2024-25. In the Interim Budget before the general elections in this year, the Finance Minister Said that the Indian economy is on the right path and heading towards a bright future. Finance Minister discussed various government schemes to empower the four pillars of developed India, namely the young, poor, women and farmers.  Finance Minister stressed on 5 ‘Disha Nirdashak’ baatein: Social justice as an effective governance model; Focus on the poor, youth, women, and the Annadata (farmers); Focus on infrastructure; Use of technology to improve productivity and High power committee for challenges arising from demographic challenges.In this budget various fund allocations for different ministries were as follows:

·      Ministry of Defence: ₹6.2 lakh crore;

·      Ministry of Road Transport and Highways: ₹2.78 lakh crore;

·      Ministry of Railways: ₹2.55 lakh crore;

·      Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution: ₹2.13 lakh crore;

·      Ministry of Home Affairs: ₹2.03 lakh crore;

·      Ministry of Rural Development: ₹1.77 lakh crore;

·      Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers: ₹1.68 lakh crore;

Alumni talk on the topic "Negotiable Instrument Act"

I.T.S School of Management, Ghaziabad organized an Alumni Talk for the students of PGDM (2023-25 batch) on the topic "Negotiable Instrument Act" on January 31, 2024.

 

The talk was delivered by Mr. Ashwani Jha (Alumnus PGDM 2009-11 Batch), Advocate, Delhi High Court. Dr. Timira Shukla, Director – I.T.S School of Management welcomed him by presenting a plant sapling.

Mr. Ashwani Jha started the session by sharing his experience at I.T.S School of Management. Further, he shared his journey from campus to corporate & Corporate to Advocate in Delhi High Court. He elucidated the concept of "Negotiable Instrument Act" by presenting live cases from the industry.  He said that all of us should always follow our dream goals. He emphasized to be happy in life, and to be happy in life it is important that, whatever we do, we should do with passion & honesty.  

He answered all the queries asked by the students satisfactorily.

At last Dr. D.K. Pandey presented a memento as a token of gratitude to Mr. Ashwani Jha.

Participation as a Track chair in the INCONSYM-2024 : International Conference on Global Business Transformation : Now, Next and Beyond

Dr. Anusha Agarwal , Faculty of I.T.S School of Management, Ghaziabad participated as a Track chair in the International Conference on Global Business Transformation : Now, Next and Beyond (INCONSYM-2024) organized by Symbiosis Institute of Business Management (SIBM), Hyderabad in association with University of Wollongong Dubai and SCMS Noida on January 30t, 2024.

 

The objective of the conference was to provide a common platform for researchers from the Academia as well as the Industry to discuss and present their research work by providing an opportunity for collaboration among them. Various novel ideas and the prototype models on the above mentioned theme were presented in the conference.

Academicians, researchers, and business executives gave the presentations. The focus of the session was on research papers that addressed actual issues and situations in the field of sustainability, ESG etc. The session's participatory format contributed excellent learning. One-on-one feedback sessions with the participants included recommendations for further research in their areas of interest.

Agarwal and Dr. Ritu Saxena attended the CII MSME Summit- "Fuelling India@100 Growth Story” organized by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) on January, 30, 2024 at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.

 

The summit focused on Charting Innovation, Policy Reforms, Financing, and Global Competitiveness within the MSME sector.

It aimed at exploring a comprehensive roadmap for India's economic growth, particularly within the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector. The summit brought together industry leaders, policymakers, and experts to deliberate on strategies crucial for propelling India's economic trajectory forward.
