On 3rd Dec, 2016, Prof. Nitin Saxena (Chairperson- MBA) and Dr. Puneet Kumar (Asst. Prof- Finance) attended a seminar on "Wealth creation through Investing in Stock Markets–The Common Sense approach” at India International Centre, Max Mueller Marg, New Delhi. The seminar was organized by Edge Institute of Financial Studies (EIFS) Pvt. Ltd. EIFS conducts "Wealth creation and other areas in Stock Markets" and encourages people to start investing in the Stock Market for building Wealth and contributing to the economy as a whole. This seminar was a true enabler for equity market enthusiasts and for those who believe in the power of equity markets to create long term wealth.

HR SEMINAR

Revisiting HR Practices in the Current Scenario of Optimism, The Department of Management organized a two days seminar titled Revisiting HR Practices in the Current Scenario of Optimism on 31st October and 1st November 2010 at I.T.S premises.

Mr.Sanjay Diwan, Director –Strategy, AGC Networks was the Chief guest and Mr. Abhay Saxena, AVP-TQM and Training and Development , Hero Corporation was the key note speaker in the inaugural session. There were two technical sessions, followed by a panel discussion on the first day of the seminar. Mr. Sandeep Tyagi, Director – HR, Haier appliances, Dr. H.S, Sharma, DG, Lord Krishna Group, Dr. A. R.Dubey, Professor, Skyline University, Dubai, were the key speakers in the first technical session on Business Leadership while Mr. Avirag Jain, VP – HR, R. Systems, Ms. Indrani Nath, Reliance Communication and Mr. Himanshu Saxena, CEO and Founder, Maverik Consulting were the distinguished speakers for the second technical session on Empowering HR through ICT. The facilitator for panel discussion was Mr. Murlidhar Shyam, Director – HR, ATC while Dr.P. U.B. Rao, Senior Professor, Mr.Sunit Saxena, AGM-HR, Idea Cellular and Mr. H.S.Yadav, AVP-HR, DS Group were the other members of panel discussion. There was a paper presentation contest for faculty and students on second day. Compendium was also released during the seminar. Papers were presented and were examined by the senior academicians. More than 40 papers from various Business Schools and Universities were entertained which came from Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Tamilnadu and Delhi. The best papers were awarded with cash prize of Rs.10000, Rs.6000, Rs.4000/- to faculty members and cash prize of Rs.5000, Rs. 3000 and Rs. 2000/- to students.

Prof. Anuja Roy presented Case at International Conference On Management Cases at BIMTECH.

Prof. Anuja Roy presented a teaching case titled : “ MART: A Business Enterprise With Social Heart” in the International Conference On Management Cases (ICMC) 2016 Organized by BIMTECH in association with George Masson University- Schar School of Policy & Government, Arlington, Virginia, USA on December 1-2, 2016 at Bimtech campus.

ICMC 2016 aimed at international relevance and encouraged case writers from all over the world to participate and share their experiences on a platform created for academicians, practitioners, consultants, research scholars and students of management studies. The event focused on the central theme of “Case Development to Encourage Transformational Learning.”

Keynote speaker for the session was Trevor Williamson from The Case Centre. Trevor emphasized on the case teaching method as one of the important pedagogical tools in management teaching. He focused on teaching through a process of transferring a case idea into a teaching case, a teaching note and a teaching plan.

The Conference has been a great platform to learn, share and connect with delegates from all over the world.

FICCI HR Conference attended by Management Faculty Members

Dr. D K Pandey, Dr. Charu Choudhry and Prof.Shikha Arora from Management Department attended a Conference organised by The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) on human resources titled “HR Best Practices” in New Delhi on 7th and 8th November 2016.

The theme of the conference centered on the changing dynamics of the recruitment industry and how the human resource professionals can implement the best practices in order to nail the very best of talent pool.

The two-day event witnessed presence of HR professionals, corporate leaders, recruiters, academicians, thought leaders and speakers specifically from the HR industry.

Inaugural session was presided over by Chief Human Resource Officers (CHROs) and managing directors. Speakers included Madhavi Lall, Head HR, Deutsche Bank, Prithvi Shergill, CHRO, HCL Technologies, and Mr. Saugata Mitra, Group Head, HR, Mother Dairy Pvt Ltd.

The introduction was followed by the first panel discussion of the day titled, “A Journey from Classroom to Boardroom”. Speakers and moderators of the session included Ms Madhavi Lall of Deutsche Bank, Ms Neeti Sharma, Co-Founder Team Lease, Prof. Amit Mookerjee, Dean and Head, IIM Lucknow, Noida Campus, Dr. Jitendra Das, Director, Fore School of Management and Mr Rajeev Kumar, Global Head, Campus Hiring, Wipro Limited.

“Transforming HR for Strategic Talent Management” was the focus area of the second session. The session was presided over by leaders like Dr. Sandhya Chintala, VP NASSCOM and S Radha Chauhan, President and CEO, Department of Electronics and Information Technology.

Third session of the day, focused on the concept of “Onboarding and Engaging Talent in the Digital Age”. Speakers and moderators of the session comprised Mr Prithvi Shergill of HCL, Ms Pooja Malik, VP, HR, Anand Automotives Ltd, Ms Kiran Singh, GM, Corporate HR, Mother Dairy, Mr. Unmesh Pawar, Global HR MD, Accenture and Mr.Wallace Shah, Director and Country Head, Lausanne Hospitality Consulting.

On the second day, the following sessions took place - Panel Discussion on:‘How Technology is changing the Landscape of Talent Acquisition’. Moderator was Mr. Sreekanth Arimanithaya, Managing Director, CSC India & Global Lead- Workforce Management,CSC. Panelists were Mr. Premlesh Machama – MD, Career Builder IMr. Prashant Bhatnagar – Senior Director, People & Culture, Hike Messenger Mr. M. V. S. Murthy – Chief – People Office, nFDIL (A Future Group Company) and Ms. Rinku Kaul – Managing Director, Talent Supply Chain, Accenture. Second session was on ‘Emerging Trends in HR’ chaired by Ms. Ester Martinez , CEO & Editor-in-Chief at People Matters.

Conference concluded with Panel Discussion & Closing Plenary on:

‘Empower HR through Apprenticeship’.

It was a good learning experience for the faculty members.
