I.T.S, Ghaziabad organized Unique Workshop on “Micro Analysis of Financial Statements”.
Finance Club “Finvest” organized a unique workshop on “Micro Analysis of Financial Statements on 5th August, 2017 for PGDM (2016-18) batch Finance specialization students. The expert on board was Dr. S. Chandrasekar, Managing Director, EmpoVer HR Solution Pvt. Ltd., Head Projects & Operations in Digital India Payments Ltd. He has a rich experience of working as a banker and as a consultant. He has conducted more the 450 workshops in more than 200 B-Schools and Educational Institutions.
The expert on board Dr. S. Chandrasekar introduced the topic to the students in a very interesting manner by challenging them to analyze the financial statements in less than 30 seconds. The students very willingly took the challenge and got involved at the very beginning. At the start there were discussions on the very basic terms and then there were 4 exercises in which the students participated. The students showed keen interest and were engaged throughout the workshop with the speaker. The workshop was attended by more than 30 students along with finance faculty, Prof. Anil Kalra, Prof. Anusha Agarwal, Prof. Nitin Saxena and Prof Neetu Purohit. The speaker introduced the concept of Asset Liability Management (ALM) in a very simple way through interesting exercises. After all the exercises the students understood few tricks to analyse and interpret the financial statements and were able to do the same in few seconds.
The students really appreciated the workshop and felt benefited from the session. The speaker also gave few appreciation certificates to the students who answered correctly the questions. Towards the end Prof. Anusha Agarwal and Prof. Neetu Purohit presented a token of remembrance to the guest.

A Guest Lecture for MCA V Semester Students by Mr. T. Srinivasan, CEO, Bytech India.
Mr. T. Srinivasan, CEO, and Mr. Prasanta behera (Manager It & Business Development) ByTech India visited the campus on 08 October, 2010 and addressed the students of MCA V semester. Mr. Srinivasan talked about the latest happening in IT field and different projects working of squeezing the time in capturing information and dissemination is in progress these days, the technologies and platform involved. He stressed that students must work not merely for proramming, but focus on learning how to make the program better and innovative. The road map must be jotted down and best practices of trade must be adapted.

Management Faculty Workshop on Business Research Methods & SPSS
On 22nd of March, 2016, A half day Faculty Workshop on Business Research methods and SPSS was organised. The resource person for the workshop was Dr. Sanjeev K. Jain. Dr. Jain shared his vast knowledge in the field of Research and its applications in Business Management. Objective of the FDP was to discuss and understand the application of SPSS in various business research applications. Dr. Jain covered the subject matter while starting with creating a database and simultaneously importing data. Using the same data, he created various scenarios and situations to cover different topics.
There were 11 Faculty participants who attended the workshop. The participants were Dr. Anusha Agarwal, Dr. V. N. Bajpai, Prof. Nitin Saxena, Prof. Ankur Ahuja, Dr. A. P. Tripathi, Dr. Charu , Prof. Shikha Arora, Prof. Neetu Purohit, Prof. Kapil Mohan Garg, Prof. Parul and Dr. Satish Kumar
From this session all participants felt benefited and enlightened.

Three Days Management Development Program on the topic, “Financial Modeling” conducted by I.T.S
A MDP titled – Financial Modelling was conducted from 7th to 9th July, 2014 at Nucleus Software, Noida. This training was imparted to officials of Nucleus Software as a part of Academia - Corporate synergy between NSBT and I.T.S Ghaziabad. First day of the training focused on understanding the financial part of the modelling and basics of Excel. Second day was devoted to understanding the complexities and steps of financial modelling. On this day the participants also developed a small model. On third day complete financial model from start to end was discussed and participants themselves made a complete model. On this day a case related to banking was also discussed. The MDP was very interactive with participants coming up with lot of questions and sharing problems they face on the job. Throughout the MDP lot of exercises were planned for practice and applying what is learnt. In the end participants gave a very positive feedback.
The complete three day training program was delivered by Prof. Sumit Gulati, Assistant Professor at I.T.S Ghaziabad.

“Resume writing” Workshop for PGDM-III trimester
A “Resume writing” workshop was organized for PGDM-III trimester students on February 7, 2012 in the Seminar hall of I.T.S, Mohan nagar Campus. Ms. Parul singh, the author of the book, “Effective resume writing” was the facilitator of this workshop. She briefed the students about nitty-gritty of preparing resumes, common mistakes to be avoided, format of modern day resumes and other important things. Students prepared their resumes and then were guided about their areas of improvement in resume building. This workshop proved to be an excellent learning experience for the students as it will help them in preparing professional resumes as per the industry requirements.

I.T.S, Ghaziabad organised FDP on Academic Excellence.
A Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Academic Excellence” by Dr. A.K. Mishra, Professor in the area of Finance & Accounting at IIM, Lucknow was held for management faculty at I.T.S Management Learning Centre on Saturday, 15th July, 2017 from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm.
Dr. Mishra conducted the FDP with the objective of improving the teaching methods by adopting the case method teaching in the class room. He started his FDP with a case study which was given to the faculty a day earlier with a view that faculty will go through the case and will present their case analysis in the FDP. The case study was about LSI Logic Corp and its growth over a period of time.
All the management faculty both from UG and PG department participated in the discussion. The case analysis and discussion was held from a very diverse view, almost incorporating all the management function.
Dr. Mishra very well demonstrated that how a case needs to be analysed in the class room atmosphere so that actual learning takes place. After concluding the case study analysis he shared his experience and methods that he adopts for teaching IIM students.
He advised faculty members to use plenty of small cases, news paper articles and news items in the class room to increase student’s participation and involvement. He was of the opinion that learning will not take place unless the class is interactive. He shared some of the tips with faculty to make classroom learning effective. He also shared his experience and knowledge about how to write good research papers. Session ended with vote of thanks.
Session was graced with the benign presence of Dr. A K Puri (DG) and Dr. Vidya Sekhri (Director – UG).
